Link to Product Page Transcript 0:00 what's up guys and welcome to a play 0:01 test review of the Yonex e-zone 98 plus 0:04 you may recognize me from the YouTube 0:06 channel time for tennis but today I am 0:08 doing a play test review in 0:09 collaboration with Courtside tennis I'm 0:11 a big fan personally of extended length 0:13 rackets and I made the switch from 0:14 standard length a few years back 0:16 actually and that was around the time 0:17 that the last generation of this racket 0:19 was on the market and at the time that 0:21 was one of the best options available 0:22 and I really like that racket so 0:24 naturally I was very excited to get to 0:26 play test this when I think of a Yonex 0:28 e-zone line of rackets I think of a 0:30 racket that is powerful but also very 0:32 plush hitting with this racket is very 0:33 fun you have a lot of access to good 0:35 Spin and you're able to redirect a lot 0:37 of pace because this racket just has a 0:39 way of plowing through the ball and 0:41 redirecting Pace with a lot of 0:43 confidence it's as if this is what the 0:45 racket was designed to do so what makes 0:46 the eso 98 plus stand out from the rest 0:48 the extra half inch is going to give you 0:50 a little bit more reach a little bit 0:51 more leverage and on the balls where 0:53 you're really stretched out or On the 0:54 Run it's nice to have that little bit of 0:56 extra reach on serves I think a longer 0:58 racket is always an advantage and if if 1:00 you've got bigger hands and you hit with 1:01 a two-handed backhand it's nice to have 1:03 that extra half inch length on the 1:04 handle Yonex rackets are already a 1:06 little bit longer than most at least 1:08 when it comes to the handle grip mold in 1:10 other words most of the Onyx rackets 1:11 have a hammer mold that is probably 1:13 enough for most two-handers but their 1:15 plus rackets are going to give you an 1:16 additional half inch on top of that so 1:17 plenty of handle length I'd say the 1:19 racket that's most similar to this one 1:20 has got to be the ezone 100 plus but 1:23 outside of the Onyx lineup it's got to 1:25 be the Pure Drive Plus compared to the 1:26 ezone 100 plus you're going to find that 1:28 this racket is slightly more 1:30 maneuverable its swing weight is just a 1:31 little bit lower and its head size is 1:33 just a little bit smaller with a 1:35 slightly more dense string pattern so 1:36 overall you're going to find that this 1:38 racket offers just a touch more control 1:40 you might even find that the racket's a 1:42 little bit more comfortable because the 1:43 beam overall across the length of the 1:45 racket is also a little bit more thin 1:46 however compared to the ezone 98 plus of 1:48 last generation it is slightly thicker a 1:51 half millimeter so you might find that 1:53 compared to the last generation of this 1:55 racket you'll get slightly more power 1:56 slightly more stability all in all is 1:59 just a nice little nudge in that 2:00 direction compared to the Pure Drive I'd 2:02 say that this is a much more control 2:03 oriented version of that type of Racket 2:05 don't get me wrong this is a powerful 2:07 Racket and part of why I appreciate that 2:09 so much is when you get in a pinch it's 2:10 really easy to punch your way out 2:12 sometimes I find myself in Desperate 2:13 scrambly situations some of the more 2:16 softer control oriented rackets it's 2:18 hard to find the power to get out of 2:20 those situations but with this racket 2:22 you're more likely to find yourself in a 2:23 position where you can still fight your 2:25 way out of a desperate situation and 2:26 turn it around turn that situation into 2:28 an offensive so if you're a heavy hitter 2:30 with good control and consistency and 2:32 you want good access to spin I think 2:33 this can be a very very fun racket for 2:35 you anyone in the market for a Pure 2:37 Drive type of Racket should highly 2:38 consider checking this one out if 2:40 they're looking for something a little 2:41 bit more control oriented and a little 2:43 bit more comfortable with still great 2:45 access to spin yes this is a plus length 2:47 racket but the maneuverability is great 2:49 at the end of the day it's just an extra 2:50 half inch I don't think it's going to 2:52 take a lifetime to adjust to once you 2:54 get used to that subtle difference in 2:55 length you will start to greatly 2:56 appreciate some of the benefits that 2:57 come with it so give it a try Yonex 2:59 offers some of the best quality control 3:01 on the market if you'd like to demo this 3:03 racket you can stop by at your local 3:04 Courtside tennis or go to Courtside 3:06 tennis.com and find out more thanks for 3:08 watching and we'll see you there English (auto-generated)
