Video Transcript 0:00 hey guys it's will with Courtside tennis 0:02 and pickleball and today I wanted to 0:04 talk to you about tennis racket 0:05 dampeners what a dampener is this is a 0:07 piece that goes inside the strings and 0:10 it cuts down on the Ping noise there has 0:13 been some debate if it actually helps 0:14 your arm or not a lot of studies show 0:16 that it does cut down on the string 0:18 vibration but not the racket shock so it 0:21 doesn't necessarily help your arm a 0:22 whole lot but it does cut down on the 0:24 the Ping noise that a tennis racket will 0:26 make and a lot of people don't like the 0:28 feel or the sound of that when it comes 0:30 to like the best or my favorite dampener 0:34 it's the it used to be called the prince 0:36 silencer I'm not sure if Prince still 0:38 makes them but you can buy items that 0:41 are very similar to Old print silencer 0:43 but before I describe why I like this 0:45 dampener the best out of all the 0:47 dampeners that I've ever seen the gamma 0:49 shockbuster does is definitely 0:51 noteworthy 0:53 the shockbuster is cool because it has a 0:55 gel in it called zorbicon which I was 0:57 told is the same gel that they use in 0:59 some prosthetic limbs to cut down the 1:02 shock and the vibration and that's one 1:04 of the few dampeners that has the gel in 1:05 them they're longer so they cover more 1:07 area of the tennis racket and it really 1:10 will help if you are thinking that might 1:12 help your arm that's probably your best 1:14 bet because of the gel the biggest 1:16 complaint on them though is it comes in 1:19 a single and a double 1:20 especially a single it has a little hook 1:22 at the end and that will break it used 1:25 to be really bad where like you know 10 1:27 years ago they would actually like the 1:30 gel leak out when stain clothing they 1:32 changed the gel so I don't think it 1:33 leaks and gets on clothing as much but 1:35 they do break and you have to replace 1:36 them every six months the double is a 1:39 little bit more durable and supposed to 1:41 be a little bit more effective both of 1:42 these we do sell on our website 1:44 so my favorite one is this silencer and 1:48 they when Prince went through their 1:51 restructuring of their business 1:53 it was really hard to find these I was I 1:56 was finally able to find a source 1:57 because we had so many customers and 1:59 such a big following for them they don't 2:01 have the gel like the shockbuster but it 2:04 is a nice rubber that still will absorb 2:06 the shock and they're longer so I really 2:09 like the longer dampeners because they 2:10 discover more area of the tennis racket 2:12 and what's really nice about these is 2:15 the holes instead of the hooks they will 2:17 never break they will never fly off a 2:18 lot of the round ones when you're 2:20 playing I'm sure it's happened to plenty 2:22 of you you hit the ball and the dampener 2:24 goes who knows where you can never even 2:25 find it it probably goes two quarts away 2:27 sometimes so these are really cool 2:29 they're kind of a trick to put on 2:32 um and there is kind of a trick to it 2:34 but you do not have customers are always 2:36 like 2:38 please make sure you string this on a 2:39 racket but you actually don't need a 2:40 string it you just can have an already 2:43 strong Racket and you can put it on and 2:45 once you know how to do it it's pretty 2:46 easy 2:48 so the trick to them 2:51 is put the racket on a flat surface 2:54 and all dampeners I believe need to go 2:58 into the first cross 2:59 or I think technically outside any of 3:02 the outside crosses but 99 people put 3:04 under the first cross you're not 3:06 supposed to have any kind of dampener in 3:07 the middle of the racket I think that 3:09 could actually disqualify you from 3:11 tournament because you could have like 3:13 weird spins and stuff by putting weird 3:15 stuff in your string so definitely I'd 3:17 recommend putting it below the first 3:19 cross 3:21 what you want to do is you put it on the 3:24 string 3:25 along the mains and you want to push 3:27 down with your two thumbs and just slide 3:30 the dampener in like that 3:33 and then you weave it to the other side 3:36 and you do the same thing 3:45 and it's a little harder than it looks 3:48 but you get your thumb muscles working 3:50 and it becomes easy over time it doesn't 3:53 matter I mean I always like to make a 3:55 little smiley face you can push it up a 3:57 little bit however you see fit but that 4:00 damn that dampener is highly effective 4:02 it won't break it won't pop off 4:05 and I definitely recommend it if you 4:08 have any other questions though or any 4:09 comments about tennis dampening or 4:11 anything on this video please like And 4:12 subscribe to us comment message us and 4:15 I'd love to talk to you bye and have a 4:17 great day
